Today, we are measuring mass! You will be using the homemade scale you made yesterday to compare the mass of lots of things from around your house.
1. Find a spot to hang your scale (a doorknob will probably work best). 2. Gather some items from around your house that will fit in the containers on your scale. Some ideas: eraser, small toys, pencil, water bottle, shoe -- you can get creative with this part! 3. You're going to be comparing the mass of the items you gathered; put one item on one side of the scale, and another item on the other side. The scale will tip towards the heavier of the two! 4. Use the worksheet below or your whiteboard to keep track of your comparisons. 5. Send us a video on FlipGrid so we can see your scales and see how measuring mass went for you! |
